The Salt Flats in Salar de Uyuni Bolivia is truly one of the wierdest, amazing, and most beautiful things/places I have ever seen. A truly underrated wonder of the world Salar de Unyuni and the Salt Flats in Bolivia is a must see if you are in the area.

The area is the largest salt flat in the world and when you take a 3 day 4×4 tour out to the area, you can stand in the middle of the salt flats and see nothing but salt and sky (which makes for some really cool pics). The experience is amazing and seeing a sunrise and sunset in the middle of the salt flats simply cannot be explained in words.

From everything from a hostel built entirely from Salt, to watching some of the locals shovel the salt into trucks to take to bag and sell in stores, to driving over the flats at top speed in and old Nissan 4×4 SUV with a Bolivian driver that doesnt speak a word of English the whole experinece is great.
