Thailand

The first night in Bangkok was an absolute gong show. The whole group wasn’t even expecting to go out but I told them that they have to at least come for the welcome speech and then they could go to bed if they wanted to. So I did the welcome speech and got all of the logistics out of the way and then ordered some buckets. Needless to say after a few buckets everyone was ready to party. We went over to another bar across the street to a bar called Shamrocks and got some sheesha and some more buckets. After Shamrocks everyone wanted to hit the nightclub, but by this time all the main night clubs were closed and we had to go to some after hour clubs. So we all jumped in a bunch of tuk tuks and raced around Bangkok towards spicy night club. That alone was a blast some tuk tuks had like 8 people piled in it and they tuk tuk drivers were popping wheelies and racing. As soon as we got into spicy I was overwhelmed, the place was packed and we could barley even move. I thought for sure we would be loosing people in the crowd, but we all stuck together and got ourselves a little hang out spot. Which conveniently was right next to these huge pillars with tables around then which we danced on alllll night. Soon enough it was 6am and the lights came on and they were telling us to leave the night club. So back into the tuk tuks we went and headed off back to khao san road. Generally you would think it would probably be time to go to bed by this time…. but nope, we went back to Shamrocks and continued drinking towers of beer. Chanty (who you will hear alot about) “was not ok” she was ranting and falling asleep at the table. So I walked her home and then went back. Finally we shut things down at who knows what time. And Candace attempted to piggy back me home but that ended very quickly when she tumbled taking me down with her.

So that was Day 1!

The next day we slept in until 12 or 1 then went for breakfast. During breakfast Chanty was lucky enough to see her first monkey….. Or at least she thought it was a monkey, but really it was a bird. After Breakfast we all jumped on a boat on a canal and headed to the reptile zoo where we all saw an actual monkey (not a bird) and all sorts of other things like tigers, bears, crocodiles and an awesome snake show where they kissed king cobras! After the zoo we went back to the hotel and had some dinner and relaxed. Unfortunately Sarah and Kailey missed there flight due to fog problems in Calgary so I went back to the airport to pick them up. Once we got back we headed back to shamrocks for round 2, only this time it wasn’t nearly as rowdy, most of the group was still hurting from the night before so just a few of us hung out at shamrocks and drank a few towers.
