The day we arrived in Fairfield, we parked the bus downtown to investigate the kite scene. This investigation lead us right into the Soldier Creek Brewing Company – right behind some confirmed kiteboarders. As it turned out, the Soldier Creek Brewing Company was not only a great place for a good bite and drink, but also the local spot to plan the daily kiting adventures. For more info on the local kiting, check out my other post: Winter in Fairfield: Let’s Snowkite!

The most memorable part of the experience eating here was the great service. I don’t remember the young lady’s name or the guy’s name preparing the food, but they were some of the most pleasant people I’ve ever met at a restaurant. They were always friendly and interested in having a good chat. You can see them both in that first photo with my kite buddy Randy.

The sandwiches were very good and obviously prepared with a lot of love. I’ve posted up some pictures of the menu if you were interested in seeing some of the menu items.

I don’t know the exact time, but they are open quite early in the morning – I think around 7/8AMish. And the front stays open through lunch. During the evening, the front is relatively vacant, but the bar in the back fires up. Food can still be ordered from the kitchen in the bar too. Drinks are priced good, at least compared to Alberta (Canada).

On a side note, you can get internet in the restaurant from the open Fairfield network, but it’s quite weak – head to the library for a stronger signal. And I threw the bus picture in to confirm that we are in a rock band! Again, thanks Randy for the trip!
