Skip the story if you just want the point of it (Capitals at the bottom):

After driving around Oliver for two hours on a busy weekend in July, finding out all camping was full with darkness falling was really ruining the roadtrip mood. Having nowhere to really park on the side of the Road, my friend and I went for a beer to hope something will come of it. ie. a party we could park at for the night. The sky in desert BC was turning off colours of deep green and vibrant oranges and we knew rain was coming with the night.

We asked the bartender for help, if she knew of a place to sleep and to our luck she did! ''its a really local spot, if you are going for only a night, maybe two you could handle it, but you never know what’s going to happen at loose bay.’'

''Is it safe?’' I reply wondering why it sounded like a warning and she answered with a hesitation…’'...yeah. Sometimes. You’ll be fine if its only for a night or two, the man’s name is Yvonne, he is french, its 4$/night. Go S.West out of town, turn left at Ricks Autobody, I think its ricks…Anyways, it will take you up a mountain and you will find yvonne through the gates, you should go if you like to party’'

We had no choice, so we finally found it. Yvonne was sitting outside with friends smoking and watching a fuzzy old television with bands going through the screen. We stop, I have a bad feeling. I get out of the car, Yvonne barks, QUOI, WHAT? ...a little intimidating (WHERE ARE WE???!!!) we tell him we need to stay for the night and he says, No fighting and No fires. We pay him 5 bucks as he instructs us to enter the gates and find a place anywhere. ...we passed.

Through the gates were sand roads, beautiful horizons, and more sand. Tumble weeds actually blowing in front of the van. We drive around noticing that everyone up on this mountain lives here. Couches/car seats were outside, it was truly homes outside in the sand. It was really cool, aside from the coming storm, and the men yelling at us from across the way. We moved our van to another spot. Small social gatherings were happening here as people pay like 50 bucks to live there each month. I’m sure the place is a lot of fun but we decided to stay in the van while the rain poured, it turned out to be the best storm ever, thanks to deserted atmosphere of Loose Bay.

SO, the place looks like a place people take people to murder them, but its actually a really sweet place, with people who just go against the grain. Really nice people I’m sure, though I never met them because we got the Hell out the next morning. It was quiet that night, but normally its truly an experience. In fact it was an experience for us as well, in the middle of nowhere.

In the morning people knocked on our van asking if we wanted to pick fruit for work.

LONG AND SHORT> IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR CHEAP ACCOM AND SOME EXTRA CASH GO SEE YVONNE AT LOOSE BAY IN OLIVER. ...or if you get stuck with no where to sleep for a night on a roadtrip. You know what, do it anyways!
